Pranayama / Conscious Breathing: The Classical Ratio & the Neurophysiological Effects...

Pranayama:

You will find various translations and supposed meanings of the sanskrit, vedic word, 'Pranayama'. I understand Pranayama as a word most mystifying and profound...

My knowledge of the ancient sanskrit language and the vedic literature, allow me the following understanding:

The word Pranayama: Prana + Ayama, means extension or expansion of the dimension of Prana or 'life force'. The various techniques of Pranayama provide us the precious keys to unlock the higher dimensions and forge a deeper mind body and soul connection.

As we practice Pranayama, we train ourselves to use these keys to unlock our mind-body pathway. Our Prana or life force is thus activated and regulated in order to go beyond our normal boundaries or limitations and attain a higher state of vibratory energy and awareness. We attain a higher state of awareness and instinct...

There are three main types of breathing:

Abdominal (deep), Chest (middle), and Clavicular (shallow) breathing. A full Yogic breath combines all three, beginning with a deep breath and continuing the inhalation through the intercostal and clavicular areas. Deep abdominal breathing is essential for ventilating the major part of the lungs.

These initial stages influence the flow of prana in the nadis (energy channels), purifying, regulating, and activating them, thereby inducing physical and mental stability.

Pranayama has the power to alter your state of consciousness. By hyper-oxygenating your lungs you can access higher realms of awareness.

How does this happen?

Let me briefly touch upon an important biochemical process that takes place in your body during Conscious breathing or Pranayama

Conscious Breathing is Psychedelic….

Facts:

  • DMT, dimethyltryptamine is not only produce in the brain

  • Your lungs produce DMT during advanced Pranayama, DMT meditation (when done correctly)

  • DMT is also produced by the lungs during the REM phase of sleep

  • That's how you dream, DMT, dimethyltryptamine is a hallucinogenic drug

  • Advanced Pranayama or DMT meditation deepens your connection with self, providing more significant insights into your emotions and motivations

Pranayama works like a healer, it is proven to reduce stress and anxiety
